8 Reasons to join Angel Academe

1. Rigorous Deal Sourcing and Vetting

We draw on our extensive network and leverage the expertise of members to bring only high-quality and vetted deals to the group, saving members the time and hassle of sourcing deals independently.

2. In-Depth Due Diligence
Our high calibre membership, supported by a structured process and professional partners (in law, tax, investment and talent), conducts thorough due diligence, including financial reviews, legal checks and market research. This gives members confidence in the startups presented and reduces the risks associated with limited or unreliable information.

3. High-Quality Deal Flow

We often have access to deals that might not be available to independent investors. We attract excellent founders because of our reputation, network, track record and ethos.

4. Entrepreneur Support, Meaningful Ticket and Round Sizes

We support founders through the investment journey and bring only high calibre investors deploying meaningful amounts of cash to the table. We usually achieve £100k+ per round in investment, often much more. We're unusual in supporting follow-on rounds, frequently bringing new investors into the deal.

5. Mentoring and Guidance for Startups
Our deal screening and investment process enables members with specific expertise to meet startups in relevant sectors. Where there's a good pairing, we're keen our members support their investments as informal advisors and/or NEDs.

6. Co-Investment Access and Leverage

As a network, we're able to invest in larger deals that individual angels might not be able to access. We can also leverage co-investment from our network of institutional investors and other angel groups we partner with. This year, we've invested alongside US VC Alumni Ventures, Innovate UK (through our Investor Partnership with them), Hearst Ventures, Nina Capital, Cambridge Angels and others.

7. Education, Mentoring and Networking

To help members become even more skilled investors, we provide regular educational content, including workshops, webinars, and expert talks on topics like valuation and emerging technology trends. Our collaborative due diligence process enables new investors to learn by doing alongside experienced ones. Our on- and offline networking events help members to connect with each other to build trust and valuable professional relationships.

8. Operational and Administrative Support

We handle many of the administrative tasks associated with investing, from organising pitch events to supporting due diligence, participating in follow-on rounds and portfolio support.

In essence, we aim to make angel investing not only more accessible but also more informed, collaborative, and strategically rewarding for our members.
